My Qualifications
My name is Lynn Thompson, and I have been working in the child care field for over 30 years. I hold a B.A. in Psychology, with focus on children and families.
I engage in ongoing training pertaining to the areas of child growth and development, safe and healthy environments, developmentally appropriate practices, guidance, family relationships, cultural and individual diversity, and professionalism. It is so important to me to keep up with current research and development in the field of child care. Each year, I aim to complete at least 20 hours of this training: well above the Oregon State requirement for child care licensing.
Further, the child care services I provide are rich with regular time outdoors, healthy snacks, and a rotation of unique activities in addition to the typical preschool curriculum I teach. One of my many goals is for each student to be kindergarten-ready by age five.

My Certifications
- Registered Child Care Provider License kept current and posted at all times.
- B.A. Degree in Psychology, with a child development and counselling focus.
- SPARK Quality Rating & Improvement System; Four Star Program of Quality.
- Current Oregon State Food Handlers Permit.
- Current Infant & Child CPR and First Aid Certification/Training.
- Over 25 hours of training/education per year in early childhood education.
Testimonials
Caitlyn says:
You came into our lives at just the right moment, at a time of instability and uncertainty, and you provided my family and I with stability and structure, knowing that my son was in your care. His participation in preschool has allowed him to grow from a toddler to a kid. He’s made great leaps socially. And most importantly, he is happy!
Teagan says:
Her classroom is thoughtfully designed for young children, safe, nurturing, and full of creative play. The outdoor space is truly dreamy: mature trees, natural nooks, and just the right scale for kids to feel immersed in a world of imagination while still being completely safe and supported.
Her communication is top‑notch. She prioritizes safety, health, and emotional well‑being in a way that gave us complete confidence every single day. The small group size allows her to offer meaningful one‑on‑one attention and to gently guide social interactions and conflicts with skill and care. At the end of each day, she always took the time to share thoughtful updates that helped us understand how our children were growing, learning, and experiencing their world.
Her program is the perfect blend of small, structured, family‑like, and intentionally curated to meet each child’s needs.
